Paws To Play was created for one single reason - to provide all pets and pet parents the services, care and support they need and deserve. Since being established in 2000, we’ve proudly served the Scotts Valley area and continue to open our doors every day with a smiling team.

Jakub

(Owner)

Hello, my name is Jakub. I became the owner of Paws To Play in early 2022. I’m an Army veteran, a father of three, and the proud best friend of Blaze, my four-month-old German Shepherd.

Animals—especially dogs—have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with dogs and many other animals and have continued that love for animals into adulthood. Over the years, I’ve worn many different hats, but owning a doggy daycare has easily been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding.

Since taking over Paws To Play, I’ve dedicated a great deal of time to learning about canine behavior, socialization, safety, and proper care. I genuinely enjoy putting that knowledge into practice every day and creating an environment where dogs can feel comfortable, make friends, play, and simply enjoy being dogs.

Hello, my name is Elena. Dogs are my favorite people ;) I have been around dogs for my entire life. Growing up I had a cocker spaniel, collie, german shepard, 3 dachshunds, jack russel terrier and a chihuahua mix. I have completed a behavior/ obedience course for dogs and I have competed in dog shows with my dachshunds. In the past I was a manager and a groomer in a dog hotel. I am looking forward to taking care of and getting to know your furry children.

Hi! My name is Ashley. I am a twenty-three year old college student at Central Coast College. I am in my first year of vet assisting and my goal is to become a vet-technician. The reason I am working towards this goal(career) is the love and respect I have for animals. I love all sorts of critters, big to small. I personally have two dogs, a Pitbull/Labrador/Retriever and a Chihuahua. I’ve been taking care of them since the age of 10. They are both great companions. I love working at Paws to play because I get to work with dogs by watching their social behavior and improving their training and obedience commands.

Hello, my name is Michaela! I've been working with dogs for last 3 years and have enjoyed every moment of it! I've worked at multiple doggie daycare facilities, in-home care, grooming, and even training. I personally own a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois that I've had since he was 10 weeks old and we do absolutely everything together! Overall, I love spending time with not only dogs but animals of any type! I'm glad to be part of the Paws to Play team and am excited to give my love to your four-legged family members!

I adore animals. My experience with dogs of all temperaments and personalities comes from volunteering at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. I give them TLC, playtime, take them on walks, and introduce them to prospective adopters. I also volunteer with the shelter cats, and at their low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinics. I especially love working at Paws to Play because I don’t have a dog myself. While I make sure your precious companions are happy and safe, I get my own fix of puppy joy and snuggles. Win-win!
